The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community includes descendants of ancestral communities from Whidbey and surrounding islands. Central Whidbey is the homeland of the Lower Skagit people, whose descendants are part of the present-day Swinomish community.

These connections are living ones, carried forward through families, culture, language, leadership, and care for the land and water.

Small shells. Big Whidbey flavor. 🐚

October is National Seafood Month, and we’re giving some hometown love to Prima Bistro in Langley, where Penn Cove mussels bring a little French flair to an island favorite.

Local mussels, a local kitchen, and a very convincing reason to let someone else handle dinner. 🍽️😂

Here’s to the shellfish farmers and restaurant teams making Whidbey taste so good. Supporting our neighbors is something we can happily build dinner plans around.
