Congratulations to the 2024 Rookie of the Year, Carter Ulibarri with Windermere South Whidbey!

Nominees must be in the real estate business for 2.5 years or fewer, demonstrate participation in local REALTOR® association activities; have made a commitment to education and is active in their real estate business.

Our Rookie of the Year proudly served as a firefighter for nine years. While serving as a firefighter, he developed valuable skills such as problem-solving, effective communication, and a robust work ethic. These skills translated well when he chose to relocate to Whidbey Island and change careers as a REALTOR®. No stranger to hard work, this dedicated WIAR member understands the importance of serving others with the utmost care and professionalism.

Known for his chipper attitude and favorite line, “Best Day Ever!”, he is always ready to lend a hand at every opportunity. His peers best describe him as, a go-“giver” who lights up a room whenever he enters and is always a joy to work with. He and his partner, Diana enjoy working on their Langley homestead, exploring the great outdoors and immersing themselves in the Whidbey Island Community. Congratulations to our 2024 REALTOR® of the Year, Terri Neilon with Acorn Properties!

This is the most coveted award that can be bestowed by one’s peers. Nominees must demonstrate involvement in the local, state, or national REALTOR® associations. They must also demonstrate what we call “REALTOR® Spirit,” a faithfulness to the principles of the REALTOR® organization, professionalism, and the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.

This year’s recipient exemplifies the REALTOR® Spirit and may best be known for her ability to not only see the leadership abilities in others while encouraging them and their ability to shine, but to step up and volunteer whenever, and wherever she is needed including her service to all three on the island throughout the years. She has a clear passion for education and actively participates in WIAR & NPSAR’s Education Committees. She walks the walk with certificates & designations that include CRS, GRI, e-PRO, C2EX & AHWD. She was the Washington State CRS President in 2018 and will be serving in the same role again in 2025.

She has not only helped organize RPAC events but again walks the walk as a Major RPAC investor year over year. She has developed amazing relationships with staff and legislators in our community, and can be seen attending Washington REALTORS® Hill Day each year, along with her attendance at Washington REALTORS® Spring and Fall Business conferences. She has also served as Washington REALTORS® Northwest Region Representative in 2022 & 2023. Her commitment to excellence in the REALTOR® industry is evident in her own achievements as a successful REALTOR® and business owner. The support she provides as a mentor and role model is equally extended to her own family, encouraging her husband’s leadership roles in NPSAR and now with her daughter as she begins her leadership journey as President in 2025.
