OK, so I bet you were just about to ask yourself, "What is going on with San Juan Island Property Values"? Well, I beat you to it. I'm your local Real Estate Appraiser, here on San Juan Island, Anthony Blackburn. One thing I do with every appraisal, no matter what it is or where it is, is to analyze what is going on in the market. Here on San Juan Island, since 2024, property values, on average, have been trending just a bit lower. With the variety of properties we have here, and the amount of sales, the statistics can get a bit "Jumpy", so I'll look at a longer period of time to get a better idea of what is happening. The red trend line that I put in this chart I made also tends to reduce the impact of high and low sales or months in this diverse, seasonal market. Considering where mortgage interest rates are and the uncertainty of the macro economics impacting real estate, prices are definitely a bit softer now than last year. That being said, one thing for sure is that it is NEVER a bad time to buy real estate in the San Juans Islands.
