Help Slow the Spread and Contract Trace More Efficiently: Download the COVID-19: CO Exposure Notifications
Summit County urges our community to help fight COVID 21st century style by downloading the state’s new exposure app. The state of Colorado’s statewide exposure notification system, in partnership with Google and Apple, can quickly notify users if they are exposed to COVID-19 so they can reduce the risk to their friends, family, and community by getting tested and isolating.
The exposure notifications share anonymous tokens with other users through Bluetooth. If another user tests positive for COVID-19 within 14 days and uploads their results, users at risk of infection will receive an alert of potential exposure. We also encourage those using the notification system to quickly upload positive test results so that contract tracing happens quickly!
Concerned about privacy? Tokens are not associated with any phone number, name, location, or IP address, and they change every 15 minutes to add an extra layer of anonymity.
The state created this service with privacy in mind: it does not use your GPS, and no location data or personally identifiable information is ever collected, stored, or transmitted.
Summit County strongly encourages the community to activate COVID exposures. This will help our entire county contact trace quickly and efficiently and ensure that our residents stay healthy, and our community can open back up sooner.
