KistlerGroup was founded in 2013 in Newport Beach, CA as a residential real estate brokerage. Julie, the broker, had the vision to create a business that provides personalized 5-Star service for her clientele. She built the business in one of the most competitive real estate markets in the country by providing exceptional service and amazing industry knowledge. Carl joined the brokerage in 2015 and they opened a storefront in Lido Marina Village the next year.

Julie was the founding president of the Orange County chapter of the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP), a non-profit 501(c)(3) and HUD-approved housing counseling organization dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership, financial-literacy education, VA loan awareness, and economic opportunity for the active-military and veteran communities. She led the organization for two years and then resigned when the decided to leave Orange County and move to Big Bear Lake, CA.

Julie and Carl began a new chapter in their lives providing business consulting to a local short term rental management company based in Big Bear Lake. They spent 18 months helping the owner turn his business around while continuing to serve special real estate clients in Orange County, 90 miles away.

In 2018, they left Big Bear Lake and relocated to the DFW Metroplex to be closer to their children. They opened a branch of their real estate brokerage in TX. Julie continued work in the Short Term Rental space by opening the DFW Metroplex for Vacasa, the largest short term rental management company in the world. Carl continued assisting small to mid-size business by providing mentorship and business coaching. They purchased a home in Frisco, TX and continue to service both the CA and TX real estate clients.
