I was born and raised in Southern California. For two years I was a “Cookie Mom” for the Crittenton Home for abused children. Monthly a group of women would go to the home for the kids and create a craft and share a snack with the kids. For two years I was the Fern Drive Elementary School PTA President. Along with running the PTA, I also organized a new Jog-a-thon fundraiser. The jog-a- thon has continued to grow and this year the event raised over $17,000. This money was raised for new computers for the school. Letter of Recommendation from the Fern Drive Principal:
“As principal of Fern Drive School, I worked with Christine Truxaw for 5 years as an involved parent, including two years as my PTA president. During this time I has numerous occasions to observe Mrs. Truxaw in a variety of settings and dealing with a variety of people. She is dedicated and does whatever it takes to get any job done. She took a very loosely organized PTA Board with diverse personalities, and transformed it into an effective group. She is a hands-on leader, and works side by side with her people.
