Declutter your home with these 5 hacks!

Decluttering can be a challenge, but it feels SO good once you’re done! Grab some boxes or bins and get started. 😄

Here are some ideas 👇🏼

✅ Box 1: Trash—All those old magazines, holey socks, and dried-out pens go here. Put things that you want to get rid of AND that aren’t worth donating or selling in this box.

✅ Box 2: Sell/Donate—Throw all the items you could do without into box 2. All the old books, clothes, or toys that are still in OK condition go in here! Whether you want to give these things away to family/friends, donate them, or sell them to make a little extra money is totally up to you.

✅ Box 3: Storage—Put everything that you can’t or don’t want to get rid of, but that you aren’t in need of on a day-to-day basis in this box. Holiday decorations, out of season clothes, and dishes for dinner parties belong here.

✅ Box 4: Put Away—Place any items that need to be kept in the house in your house, but relocated to their proper place. If you want to get really organized, you can have a few smaller boxes — one each for places like your bathroom, kitchen, or bedrooms. Sort misplaced items into their “homes” to save yourself the hassle later.

✅Box 5: Repair—Throw items that you want to keep but need to get fixed in this box, like a watch that needs a new battery. You can also throw in things you want to keep but need to be replaced like running shoes that need new soles.

The box/bin method makes decluttering much more manageable. Good luck! 😎

The easiest way to know your home is spotless and looking its best is to hire a professional cleaning company!

Buyers pay close attention to the kitchen and bathrooms so you want to make sure those areas are spotless.

If needed, consider having your carpets professionally cleaned. This is one of those things where spending a few hundred dollars can save you thousands by preventing the buyer from thinking they need to replace the carpets.

Getting your home professionally cleaned may cost you a small upfront cost, but could end up making you thousands more when you go to sell!

Nicole Middlebrooks is a realtor who knows families, and her family knows real estate.

“My mother was a realtor, and she began teaching me the business early in my childhood. I started answering phones, taking messages and making appointments when I was just seven years old! She even took me to showings and closings as soon as I mastered the art of listening. Boy, oh boy, the stories she can tell you. It’s not your typical childhood, but I wouldn’t trade those days for anything. Not only was that bonding time with my mother, it was molding and teaching me the real estate discipline, so I could help other family’s bond too.”

Always dedicated to improving the lives of those around her, Nicole also served her local community as a teaching assistant in the Prince William County school system working in the areas of special needs and physical education. Nicole is married to her husband, Tony, and they have three children, Lyle, who serves in the United States Navy and two athletes, Noah and Toni.As an educator and former owner of an ice cream shop in Manassas, Nicole learned how to be detailed oriented, patient and a champion for children. Although she was born and raised in Pittsburgh, she has lived in Northern Virginia since 1991 and has witnessed the tremendous change and growth in the DMV area.

“As your Realtor, I take being your advocate seriously. I combine today’s most modern real estate technologies with old-fashioned business skills driven by my love for people to make sure my clients find the home of their dreams.

Go Steelers!!!!
