Daphne Zollinger continues to serve on the Denton CAD Agricultural Advisory Board. Here's a few interesting insights about Denton County land:

*Denton County has ~600,000 acres total
*Approx. 274,000 acres are currently in agricultural use
*Approx. 3,800 parcels are 2–10 acres, and 700 parcels are 100+ acres under agricultural valuation

Also, for landowners:
Under Texas Tax Code Section 23.54, if you want to keep or apply for ag/open-space valuation, you must file the application by May 1 each year. Missing the deadline generally means the property won’t qualify for that year.
