Fletcher Family Companies The Fletcher Family Companies is primarily real estate based but has branched into other ventures. and Mattie Fletcher relocated from St. Upon Mr.

The Fletcher Family Companies were founded in 1931 when George W. Petersburg, Florida to Newberry, Florida. Upon their relocation to Newberry the Fletcher Family started a farming operation. Through the years that operation grew to include several thousand acres, a diversified crop, cattle, and starting a John Deere dealership in Newberry. Fletcher's death in 1957, his son George E. "Cotton" Fletcher took over part of the business. Cotton Fletcher quickly realized he needed to adjust some aspects of the family business and began buying and selling land and eventually started doing subdivision projects. Over the decades since his first project Cotton Fletcher has developed 25+ projects and completed thousands of finished subdivision lots in and around the Gainesville area. Today the companies are still run by Mr. Fletcher but have the addition of his son, Blake and daughter-in-law Ashley Fletcher. Ashley serves as Vice-President for W. Group Property Management and manager of the Home Owners' Association Division. Blake serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Fletcher Development and President of Fletcher Construction.
