One of the biggest blessings of running Safe Haven Rentals has been the people I’ve met along the way.

A lot of people assume everyone in shared living is down on their luck, but that’s not always the case.

Some of my guests are hardworking individuals simply looking for a safe place to save money, regroup, and work toward bigger goals.

In this video, one of our guests had just gotten home from work and saw me struggling to put together a package delivery chest.

Instead of going inside and relaxing, he jumped in to help.

Nobody asked him to.

He just did.

Moments like this remind me why I love what I do.

This business has provided housing for others, but it’s also brought some amazing people into my own life.

And for that, I’ll always be grateful ❤️🏡

P.S. We did finish putting it together… my camera just died before the grand reveal 😂

Also, our newest home that opened June 1st currently has only 2 semi-private spaces remaining, and we’re planning to open another shared living home July 1st.

🏡 AVAILABILITY UPDATE - SAFE HAVEN RENTALS 🏡

We recently opened a new shared living home and originally planned to transfer several of our current participants into a larger property. However, many of them chose to remain where they are, which means we now have more availability than expected.

Current Openings:

✅ Two openings for male participants in a semi-private room

✅ One semi-private room available for either a male or female participant

This is a general population shared living home and may be a good fit for:

• Returning Citizens

• Veterans

• Elderly Individuals

• SSI/SSDI Recipients

• Low-Income / working Individuals (male or female availability, as home is coed and currently has 2 male participants & a 3rd moving in June 30).

At this time, we do not have private rooms available in this home, so this particular home is generally not the best fit for women with children.

However, we do have another home opening July 1st that currently has no demographic assigned and may provide additional opportunities for women and children depending on availability and placement needs.

If you or someone you know is looking for affordable, furnished shared housing, feel free to submit an application. I will post the application 🔗 in the comments.

📣 We are also currently looking for an affordable washer and dryer, or a donated set, for the new home. If you know of any available, please send me a message.

As always, please like, comment, and share this post to help us reach those who may need housing.

Thank you for supporting Safe Haven Rentals and the work we do in our community. 🫂❤️🏡

People often see the move-ins, the filled spaces, and the finished homes. ..

What they don’t really get to see, are the late nights spent putting furniture together, cleaning, shopping, organizing, and making sure every detail is ready for the next person walking through the door. 🫂🏡

This video was taken while I was putting together a shoe rack for our newest shared living program that officially opened June 1st 2026🙌🏾.

I’m excited to share that we already have 2 guests moved in and another move-in reserved for the end of the month 🎉🏡✨

That means we currently only have 2 semi-private spaces remaining in this program.

And if all goes as planned, our next shared living program will be opening July 1st 🙏🏾🤞🏾

I’m incredibly grateful for the growth, the opportunity to serve my community, and everyone who has trusted Safe Haven Rentals along the way.

Also, we’re currently looking for an affordable washer/dryer set for the home. If you know of one available or would like to donate one, please send me a message.

One thing I’ve learned through shared living is that people’s worst mistake should not always define the rest of their life.

I’ve placed people from all different backgrounds.

Veterans.
People rebuilding after incarceration.
People recovering from difficult situations.
People who simply needed a stable place to start over.

And while screening is important, I’ve learned that character, accountability, and current behavior often tell me more than a piece of paper ever could.

Some of the most responsible people I’ve met had difficult pasts.

Some of the people with perfect backgrounds created the biggest problems. Something I also feel like isn’t talked about enough.

Life isn’t always black and white.

That’s why I believe in looking at the whole person.

What are your thoughts? Serious, what do you think? Should housing providers focus more on a person’s past or who they are today? 🤔👇

Good morning amazing people!

Still need a few things for the new homes opening up!

The one major thing we still need is a washer/dryer.

If anyone is selling one lightly used set I’d love to take a look!

Thank you.

I’m starting to see why ppl put refreshments & etc out for delivery drivers…. It’s not to be nice🫣; it’s so that they don’t do THIS😫. .. to make sure they actually bring your things in to the porch etc. because riddle me this🤔… my new home’s SCREENED IN PORCH, is at least a mile long…… but you don’t go up 3 steps to place my belongings safely inside so they don’t get taken because their easily seen, can get rained on etc. ugh.

Then, what makes it worse, it’s not even open yet! So no one is even occupying it. So now I need to drive wayyyy across town, when I just left from working on the home all day mind you 🥴, to bring a package 3 steps inside 😫😭🥴.

Lord give me the strength lol. They are so lucky I love what I do! If I told you guys HALF of what I actually deal with as the director of shares living homes, I’d bet money you’d think I’m crazy to keep doing what I do 🥹😅.
But I say all that to say,
AMAZON DO BETTER😆😭

Also, just fyi….. new home coming July 1st, feel free to apply 🙃🏡🫂🙌

(This home is another one open to the general public. So men, women, returning citizens and veterans etc are welcome to apply) 🏡🫂🙌

Unpopular Opinion: One of the smartest decisions you can make is to walk away from chaos you never should have engaged in the first place. 🤝🏾

Say that another way you say? Ok: My peace has become so expensive to me that I no longer engage in chaos. 🧘🏾‍♀️

Not every burden is yours to bear.
Not every battle is yours to fight.
Not every mess is worth fixing.

You wanna stop entertaining the clowns? Quit going to the circus‼️

Protect your peace. At. 👏🏾 all. 👏🏾 costs. 👏🏾🗣️🗣️🗣️

POV: You came to for housing… but accidentally gained a whole support system too 😂🏡🫂

Somewhere between move-in day and everyday life, my long term guests become family fr. From serious life conversations to random debates about why boiled eggs are apparently “terrifying” 😭🥚

This is one of my long-term program members and he’s come so far. I’m so proud of him every day. From enrolling in school and working towards getting his GED, to working on passing his driving exam to get his license for the first time in life. Then it’s moments like this that are exactly why I love what I do.

Shared living is about way more than just a place to stay. It’s community, comfort, healing, support, and being able to laugh again. 💙

And yes… he is genuinely deathly afraid of boiled eggs 😂
