It's an important month for real estate! This marks the 55th-anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act signed into law by Lyndon Johnson in 1968. Originally, the act only had 4 protected classes: race, color, religion, and national origin. But, as of today, they number 7 including familial status, disability, and s*x. We met Lisa by chance while looking at a property to get a sense of size and location in Montgomery County. We knew right away that she was the right realtor for us. She graciously assisted us in understanding the surrounding Montgomery County neighborhoods. Keeping that in mind, we decided to have Lisa list and sell our house in Carroll County. She presented a professional proposal for listing the house for sale. Additionally, she made suggestions for the open house that ensured the prospective buyer(s) could picture themselves living in our home. Three days after listing the home, we were under contract. We went to settlement thirty days later. Based on this positive experience, we continued our journey with Lisa to find a new home in Montgomery County. Despite all of the changes in home-style townhouses, condominiums, and single-family residences, she continued to help us finally find what worked best for us as to size and location. Together we submitted a competitive offer to buy our new home. The sellers accepted the offer, we closed on our new home in twenty-nine days. What a wonderful ending to our journey.
