TW Construction

TW Construction Commercial General Contractor, Construction Manager It all came together in 2005 when Jerry and Donnie opened the doors to their own enterprise.

The Therrien Waddell Construction team began its incubation in the 1970s.“I had been in the construction business for a few years, and here is this guy fresh out of college on the construction site,” said Donnie Waddell. Young Jerry Therrien proved to be a quick learner, and he and Donnie built a mutual respect for each other from the ground up, moving earth and building structures together, and u

ltimately leading the construction operations of two development companies over the next decades. Over the years, Jerry and Donnie built reputations based on honesty and unwavering values. They experienced the integration of leasing requirements, lenders, property management, government regulators, design needs, building efficiency, schedule imperatives and cost control lessons through a vast variety and scope of projects. Donnie explained the partnership as “a natural path to the next phase in our evolution. Together, we learned the value of viewing the project from different perspectives. We learned the right way to treat people and to execute plans.”

The most important part of history is how it shapes the future. “In 2005, our time had come,” said Jerry. “We had experience, maturity, professional credibility. We built great industry relationships. It was the right time to pull all of the experience and relationships together.” The partners recruited trusted and experienced people from the industry with whom they had history. Today, many of those people are still part of the business family formed by Jerry and Donnie. In the decade since TW was formed, the team has been awarded some prestigious honors for a variety of projects. Our expertise has expanded into a broad range of project types. Although we have grown in breadth and depth, our fundamental values will never change:

We treat others as we want to be treated. We look for ways to make every project exceptional. We honor our communities through service.

New project award!

We're stoked to be working with St. Mark Orthodox Church in Washington D.C. We'll be replacing and supplementing the existing mechanical systems throughout the entire facility, alongside some minor architectural improvements to round out the work.

Projects like this matter. Faith communities rely on their spaces every single day, and making sure those spaces work the way they should is work we take seriously.

Shoutout to our project partners:
Architect: Rutkove Building Consultants, LLC
MEP Engineers: Strickler and Associates

More updates to come as this one gets underway.

This week is Construction Safety Week, and there’s no time like th present to reiterate what we believe: safety is not a checklist, it is a culture.

The 2026 theme is ALL IN TOGETHER, and that resonates with how we approach every job, especially tenant fit-outs.

Fit-outs move fast. Occupied buildings, active corridors, coordinated trades, and tight timelines. The hazards don't slow down because the schedule is tight, so our commitment to safety doesn't either.

For us, that means:
🔷 Recognizing hazards before work begins, not after something goes wrong.
🔷 Responding with real controls in place, not just a sign on a wall.
🔷 Respecting every person on the jobsite and every phase of the work.

40+ years in commercial construction has taught us one thing above all else: the most important thing we build is trust. With our teams, our trade partners, and the clients counting on us to deliver safely.

Owners don’t just buy construction. They buy time, predictability, and lack of drama. Early coordination with a general contractor is what protects all three.

At ThirdWall, women in construction are not a “future of the industry” headline. They are the industry, right now.

Women in Construction Week is a celebration of the progress that’s been made, but also a reminder that the work is ongoing. Stronger teams and better projects come from jobsites and offices where everyone is respected, supported, and given real opportunities to lead.

To the women on our team and in construction across our industry, thank you for raising the bar and making the built environment better for all of us!

A new Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to Walnut Hill!

Our team has been selected for a new project in Gaithersburg, MD at Walnut Hill, delivering a Chipotle shell building and associated sitework.

We will be constructing a stand-alone shell building for Chipotle along with the associated site work. As part of the broader scope, we are also reconfiguring the parking lot to make room for a playground supporting a proposed childcare facility at the ground level of the neighboring retail strip center.

Owner: Granite Canyon Partners
Architect: NAHRA Design Group
Civil Engineer: Bohler

Excited to bring another Walnut Hill project to life and help set the stage for new retail and a community-serving use!

Project running behind? Look at precon planning, not just the jobsite.
When a project slips, the first instinct is to blame what’s happening in the field:

“The crew’s behind.”
“Subs are slow.”
“Supply chain’s killing us.”

Often, the schedule was already in trouble before demo even started. By the time you see the delay onsite, the delay has already been baked in.

If you’re a client, ask your construction team before you break ground:
· Are permits already submitted?
· What decisions remain open?
· What are the long-lead items, and are they ordered?
· Where are the schedule risks hiding?

Good scheduling is occurs in the 4-8 weeks before boots were on the ground. Contact us today to partner on your next project – with upfront, proper pre-planning handled like a pro.

From project kickoffs to ribbon-ready spaces, this year reminded us what great teams can build together.

We’re grateful to have delivered several tenant interiors spaces, completed a full restoration after fire damage, and celebrated the opening of a community-focused wildlife facility we were proud to support.

To our clients, partners, subcontractors, architects, and the ThirdWall team, thank you for your trust, collaboration, and craft. We look forward to another successful year ahead.

Sincerely,

Kevin
