Chartered under state law, a housing authority is an autonomous, public organization overseen by a 5-member Board of Commissioners. This organizational structure allows housing authorities to work in conjunction with local governments and agencies to develop long-term housing strategies for communities. The Ledyard Housing Authority is a quasi-independent agency (this is Not a Municipal Government
agency). As in the case of all housing authorities, the authority and direction are provided by the Board of Commissioners, the Members of which are appointed by the Ledyard Town Council. Serving as the Executive Director is Colleen Lauer who works under the Direction of the Housing Authority to oversee and carryout the daily operations of the Housing Authority. This is to give notice that the Ledyard Housing Authority operating under the auspices of the State of CT and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority will open the waiting list for its Elderly/Disabled beginning January 1, 2024. Applications shall be assigned a place on the Wait List in three-month intervals based on a random lottery selection as follows:
Applications received January 1 through March 31 – Lottery held first Monday of April
Applications received April 1 – June 30 – Lottery held first Monday of July
Applications received July 1 – September 30 – Lottery held first Monday of October
Application received October 1 – December 31 – Lottery held first Monday in January
Our program provides decent, safe, and sanitary housing for elderly and disabled persons who meet the income qualifications designated below:
1 Person - $63,950 annually or 2 People – $73,100 annually
Applicants will be determined eligible and qualified in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of the Authority which conform to the State of Connecticut. Completed applications must be mailed, delivered or emailed to:
