‼️‼️SCAM ALERT‼️‼️
I have been in the title insurance/closings business for almost 26 years now and had my first case of a seller using fake identity to try to sell someone else’s property here in Daviess County! Thank goodness here at DCLT we have measures in place to do identity verification but also wire verification!! We did get all the way to the closing table but when red flags appeared with the “seller” we halted the process and asked the “seller” for more identification, before we sent money to him, which they could not provide.
!!!Realtors!!! This contract did have realtors. Be aware that this is definitely happening in our area!!
This was a case of the “seller” never met anyone in person and signed contract electronically. Then at closing “seller” was going to sign remotely.
I just want all to be aware that is IS happening in our area.
