A few months ago, they were just trying to figure out how to make a move.

Growing up in a small rural community taught me a lot and honestly, so much of it has shaped the Realtor I am today.

You work hard. You show up. Your word means something. And you take care of people.

After nearly three decades in real estate, I’ve learned that experience matters too.

My clients don’t hire me just to put a sign in the ground or open a door. They hire me because I know how to negotiate, I know how to handle the hard stuff when a deal gets complicated, and I’m not afraid to tell them the truth even when it isn’t necessarily what they want to hear.

I know homes. I know land and agriculture. I know development. And most importantly, I know these communities because this is where I come from.

There’s a lot you can learn about real estate.

But there are some things you can only learn by living it.

And maybe that’s why a picture of a cow still feels like home. 🤎

Agents — one thing I’ve learned over the years: not every client is meant for you.

And that’s okay.

You don’t have to say yes to every person, every deal, or every situation just because the opportunity is there. Some clients are a great fit. Some aren’t. The longer you’re in this business, the more you realize how important it is to know the difference.

Your time matters. Your energy matters. The way you run your business matters.

Sometimes the best decision you can make is simply knowing when something isn’t the right fit and being okay with walking away.

You can still be kind. You can still be professional. You can still help point someone in the right direction.

But you are allowed to have boundaries.

Build a business with people you enjoy working with and people you know you can truly serve well.

Sometimes it’s the big moments you expect.
And sometimes it’s as simple as finding your late grandma Mary’s coffee recipe tucked away somewhere… and suddenly, the tears come.

It’s a reminder that homes hold so much more than things. They hold recipes, traditions, ordinary moments and pieces of the people we love.

Maybe that’s one of the reasons I love real estate so much.

The not-so-glamorous side of real estate. 😂

Walked into one of our listings today to complete my AVID and apparently the inspector had a VERY productive visit.

Ceiling access: ✅
Insulation everywhere: ✅
Me standing there wondering who is cleaning this up: ✅

People see the pretty listing photos, open houses and sold signs.

They don’t always see the inspections, crawl spaces, attics, surprises, negotiations and the 473 little things happening behind the scenes to get a property to the closing table.
