Come on down for the Sandcastle competition!!

We understand the concern about the recent red tide reports affecting parts of the Gulf Coast.

After reviewing the latest information and speaking with local officials, we can confirm that East Beach is not currently affected by red tide, and the 2026 Galveston Sandcastle Festival is still on for September 19–20!

The AIA Houston Sandcastle Competition, presented by 811, will take place Saturday as part of the weekend’s festivities.

We’ll continue monitoring conditions and will share any updates as we get closer to the event.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone out at East Beach for Sandcastle Weekend!
