My island ~ there's nothing like it!

Native Galvestonian Ingrid Gonzalez . Lyrics and meaning of Mr. Webb's version changed slightly...not so as to demean in any way the original composition. Galveston was going through a horrible post~Hurricane Ike disaster and rebuilding. We, Galvestonian's truly needed something positive in our lives at that time and Mr. Campbell's delivery of this song spoke to everyone's heart. Never has a song like Mr. Webb's of our island had been composed. And this is why this version of Galveston fit our moment in time. This video was introduced during my induction as President of the Galveston Association of Realtors in December of 2008. No acceptance speech I could have written would have ever delivered a more heartfelt message of moving forward as a community than the sharing of this video.
