Please join us to celebrate the life of Sue.
Betty Suzanne Johnson (Sue), was born in Pilot Point, Texas on
April 1, 1949 to Mary Lois Anderson and Clarence Anderson.
Sue, 75, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 24, 2025, after a battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Sue’s early years were spent in Pilot Point, Texas where she graduated from Pilot Point High School, then attended Texas Women’s University.
Sue lived and breathed real estate, and it showed. Her knowledge and expertise enabled her to set records year after year.
Other Realtors and her clients loved working with Sue because she knew what it would take for the transaction to work out, and she was fun to work with.
Sue enjoyed strategizing through challenging situations to come up with a win-win for everyone. Most of her clients became friends and repeat clients for generations.
Sue was known for driving a big white Starcraft van and sometimes, a limousine golf cart to show homes.
Sue cherished her husband, Gary, of 43 years, and the families they melded together to become one.
Sue and Gary chose “surprises” to bring the family together, and they thoroughly enjoyed teasing everyone for months ahead of an event to build up the curiosity and desire to get together. It worked like a charm.
Sue insisted on watching Christmas shows all year long, and she felt her best when she wore bright colors and bling on her nails. She cherished family, and always welcomed a visit from family and friends, and she had a way of making those visits into a party.
Sue leaves behind her loving husband of 43 years, Gary, son Jerry Horton (wife Theresa Horton), daughter Renee Levens (husband Kurt Levens), daughter Stacy Fanning (husband Keith Fanning), daughter Karen Gandy (husband Greg Gandy); eleven grandchildren Nicolle Gordon (husband Eric), Bridgette Levens, Austin Fanning (wife Sabina), Aaron Fanning (wife Hannah), Grant Gandy, Garrison Gandy, Megan Smith (husband Sam), Matthew Levens, Hunter Levens, Sara Horton, Caitlyn Horton, seven great grandchildren; sister, Kathy Timlin, many nieces and nephews, and a 4 month old fur-baby, Tiger Lily “Critter”.
Sue also leaves behind many dear friends, co-workers, beloved clients, and family members whom she cherished.
Gary wants to thank their special friend, house manager, travel companion, and caretaker, Esther Guzman, for taking care of Sue and him for the past 24 years.
Thank you, God, for the wonderful life of Sue Johnson.
