As a member-based trade association, GAR promotes and protects private-property ownership and rights, advocates for our local REALTORS® and property owners and strives to keep homeownership affordable. GAR owns and operates the Galveston Multiple Listing Service. More Texans may now qualify for homeownership assistance!

TSAHC has increased the income limits for both the Home Sweet Texas Home Loan Program and Homes for Texas Heroes Home Loan Program, making it possible for more Texas home buyers to access our homeownership programs.

New 2026 income limits:
• Home Sweet Texas: Up to 150% of Area Median Family Income (AMFI)
• Homes for Texas Heroes: Up to 170% of AMFI

The income limits shown above apply to major metro areas across Texas. If your household income does not exceed the applicable limit, you may qualify!

This exciting change helps TSAHC continue its mission to facilitate, preserve, and expand housing opportunities for Texans.

Texas does not have online voter registration.
If you moved here from another state — or if you're registering for the first time — this may surprise you. In most of the country, registering to vote is as easy as filling out a form online. Not in Texas.
As of 2026, 42 states + D.C. offer online voter registration. Texas is one of only 8 states that don’t.
In Texas, you must register by mail or in person.
Last day to register: Monday, October 5, 2026
