Texas is far too hot to work outside right now, so this little Victorian desk has taken over my dining room.

The work is slow because every leaf, curve and carved detail needs attention. I’ve cleaned a bunch and made real progress, but she’s still not finished. At this point, she may think the dining room belongs to her.

I almost left the thrift store without her. Can you imagine?

The moment those double doors swung open and she rolled into view, my dignity packed its bags and left. There were grubby paws, a shopping-cart collision that was absolutely not my fault, and behavior best described as, “Ma’am, this is a thrift store.”

Then I found out she was 50% off.

At that price, bringing her home wasn’t a decision—it was a public service. 💜 Restoration is officially underway, and I can’t wait to show you her glow-up. What do you think the wood is? Blue Skies is now Blue Heron and has a new very nice owner’s. I visited with them the other day and got to see the home. If you are looking for a rental in Galveston the amenities and location are hard to beat. 🙂
