🌪️ **Texas Coastal Property Owners: Are You Prepared for Hurricane Season?** 🏡
If you own property along the Texas coast and carry windstorm insurance through the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA), this is an event worth attending.
TWIA is hosting a **FREE Coastal Preparedness Expo** on **Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Texas City**, designed to help property owners better understand their windstorm coverage, claims process, hurricane preparedness, building code requirements, and what to expect before and after a storm. The event will also feature information on catastrophe response and resources available to coastal residents.
Many property owners don't fully understand what their windstorm policy covers—or just as importantly, what it doesn't cover—until after a storm hits. Taking a little time now could save a lot of frustration later. TWIA provides wind and hail coverage for eligible coastal properties but does not cover flood damage, making it important to understand how all of your insurance policies work together.
If you own a home, vacation property, or investment property on the Texas coast, I'd encourage you to take a look.
