My first sunrise photoshoot in way too long. I drove my new Bronco to the beach and immediately got stuck in the sand. I quickly learned how to switch to 4WD, and all was good. It was WINDY but beautiful. I welcomed my fine feathered friend into this shot. :)

I encountered self-inflicted delayers for my departure this morning but the cloudy horizon made day break shots impossible. I pulled away from the Pleasure Pier to head back to the West End (I passed my buddies TobyandJane Dawson and Stephen Thompson along the way) and when I got to Spanish Grant I saw a gorgeous hazy orb of light in the rearview mirror. The sky looked like peachy cotton candy. :)

I'm getting ready for my shoot tomorrow morning and came across this shot from May 19, 2024, a couple of weeks ago. This is a shot from my Sony a7RIV. How did I not notice this shot previously?! My favorite detail in the photo is the silhouette of the man with the metal detector. He's looking for gold in the sand but I found it in that gorgeous sky!

High in the sky with my DJI Mavic 3 Pro. I love how the haze diffused the sun. Yes, I prefer dramatic clouds, but do clear skies really p**s anybody off? :) Good morning from Galveston!

This shot was taken just 5 minutes prio to my post from this morning, just 5 minutes less illumination from the sun, along with my capture of the blinking red light atop the Star of Texas Flyer, makes this shot the best of the two!
