Proud to be representing our clients' best interests at the TWIA Legislative & External Affairs Committee meeting (with toddler on hip!) as a Texas Realtor & advocate for Galveston property owners in our State’s capitol city of Austin today! 🎉Texas Windstorm Insurance Association needs to recognize the impact it would have on the local economies which rely on tourism dollars and HOT funds -- not only for the ongoing improvement of our coastal towns -- but to allow long-term investors ability to provide housing for tenants to live & work.
All owners - not just owner-occupied properties - should have access to windstorm coverage to protect their investments. These are the same people who lovingly re-invest in the restoration of beloved historic estates, memory-making beachfront bungalows, and "fish camps" where hard working people can enjoy the fruits of their labor. Primary & secondary homeowners all deserve ability to hold a mortgage, and have lender-required protection. State Representative Terri Leo Wilson said it so well in the opening commentary! Love our Island.
