Soon you may see an 8.5% increase in your NYC water bill, this is the effect of a proposed plan aiming to generate $1.4 billion in revenue over four years by leasing water and sewer systems. This “hidden tax” would add nearly $100 annually to the average water bill, with some costs covered by existing funds for system upgrades. The increase is seen as a revival of a tax previously abandoned in 2017.

The LeFrak Organization, one of the biggest landlords in the city, recently filed a lawsuit against the city’s Office of Court Administration and Civil Court, alleging that the law mandate expedited processing of eviction cases.

LeFrak Organization, fed up with “interminable” delays in housing court, sued the city’s Civil Court, which handles eviction suits.

NYC is making efforts to improve street cleanliness by eliminating visible trash bags. 🗑️🐀

The city plans to mandate residential buildings with 31 units or more to utilize stationary on-street containers for trash disposal, impacting parking availability.

Buildings with 10-30 units will have the choice between on-street containers or wheelie bins.
