It might not be Halloween yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a sweet! Today is National Chocolate Day, the day devoted to the history of chocolate. Did you know that having chocolate can help lower stress? A study showed that there was a better cognitive performance with less mental fatigue between a group of chocolate eaters versus their control group. Scientists theorized that this was potentially true due to chocolate’s interaction in our brain to release serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins and by giving us a good dose of antioxidants.

We hope you treat yourself to a little chocolate today and learn more about the day here: https://www.farmersalmanac.com/national-chocolate-day

We understand the importance of staying active throughout your life but have you heard of Active Aging Week? This week is devoted to motivating adults over the age of 50 to become more involved in physical activity and encourage others to do the same. Aging is a positive process, but it is often portrayed as the opposite. However, by building a community of like-minded people, the effort of working out becomes an attainable goal. Go for a walk or build a community dedicated to wellness and watch positive changes occur.

Learn more about Active Aging Week and how you can become involved here: https://www.activeagingweek.com/
