💰🏡 How much money should you set aside besides your down payment?
One common mistake when preparing to buy a home is thinking only about the down payment. Your down payment is important, but it may not be the only money you’ll need to get to closing.
Depending on the property, your loan program, and your transaction, there may also be closing costs, professional fees, inspection and appraisal expenses, insurance, and other costs associated with the purchase.
There is something else I encourage buyers to consider: try not to arrive at closing having used every last dollar of your savings.
Receiving the keys begins a new chapter. There may be moving expenses, small repairs, furniture, or simply an unexpected expense. Having some reserves can provide valuable peace of mind as you settle into your new home.

💙 Buying with confidence isn’t only about being able to reach the closing table. It’s also about being prepared for what comes afterward.
