Hardwoods are officially done! Definitely a lengthy process—from the installation to the sanding, staining, and finishing—it’s not the easiest, fastest, or cheapest route we could’ve taken but I think it’s well worth it!

I learned something this weekend—finishing hardwoods is for the birds. Long day of sanding and staining until about 3 am. Ran out of stain so I wasn’t able to get clear coat on it today like I wanted to but at least the staining is done. Just under 2000 sq ft.—3 coats of clear and it’ll be a wrap!

The kids’ rooms are starting to take shape thanks to some awesome paint help from my mom! This will be Lennon’s room and it will also be getting a coordinating wainscoting detail below the buffalo check. Archie’s room will be getting a stripe detail in this same color combo—what do you guys think?!

The first weekend in the house is under our belts and we’re almost settled in. So thankful for family for all their help with getting our things organized so it feels like a functional home. One step at a time!

We’re in! It’s been a long time coming and we’ve still got a lot of work left to do but we can finally call it home. We had our final inspection earlier this week (kinda—thus the ‘Temporary’ COO because they’ll have to come do the final when it’s completely finished) but at least we’re in. The first night Cait and I stayed in our other house was on our wedding night. Exactly 9 years and 3 kids later we’re staying in our forever home for the first night. Do I wish the house was completely done?? 1000000%. But it doesn’t get much better than this.
