In loving memory of Dolly Parton, and in celebration of the quiet legacies that built Gatlinburg.

Dolly's passing has us thinking about legacy, what it really means, and how it's built. Not in rhinestones and spotlights, but in the quiet, everyday choices to love the people right in front of you. That's the kind of legacy Ralph and Dot, MLC's founders, lived out here in Gatlinburg for decades, and it's the same one Dolly spent her whole life pouring into Sevier County.

Phoebe Goodwin, daughter of Tom Goodwin and Susan Goodwin (owners of MLC) and Ralph and Dot's granddaughter, wrote a tribute to all three of them — link in comments.
