Last Saturday morning I made the drive from Lexington to Frankfort and stood in line at Buffalo Trace.

Not because I needed bourbon.

Because two of my three grown sons collect it, and sometimes being a mom means doing little things that make your kids happy, no matter how old they get.

The bourbon was a bonus. The real reward was getting to be part of a Kentucky tradition and bringing home something my boys would appreciate 💙

I started my day with a 6 AM flight from Florida so I could be back in Kentucky for this closing, and it was worth every minute.
