🏡 Attention Homeowners!
If you live in a subdivision with a Homeowners Association (HOA) and are considering selling your home, here’s something you may want to know.
Many HOAs use third-party management or servicing companies to handle dues and other administrative matters. When you sell your home, the title company will require documentation from the management company confirming your account status before closing.
What many homeowners don’t realize: the management company will charge you, the seller, an upfront fee to prepare and provide that documentation.
I’ve seen these fees start at $250 and go up from there! 😳
This might be a great topic to bring up with your HOA president or board at your next meeting. Ask what your HOA’s management company charges homeowners when they need the required document—you may be surprised by the answer!
A little knowledge before listing your home can help you avoid unexpected expenses🏠🔑
