What an awesome program! See details below:
Welcome to the Fayette County Airport 2024 Aviation Camp Program!
The Fayette County Airport is thrilled to host our second annual camp, offering a unique opportunity for 16 fortunate students ages 12 to 14 to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of aviation. The camp, running from July 8th to the 13th, Monday through Saturday, will kick off each day with classes at 8:30 am sharp. A break for snacks and drinks will be followed by more engaging sessions until 12:00 noon, when students will enjoy lunch while mingling with aviators, employees, and customers. After lunch, a team building and interactive activity will wrap up the day, with students ready for pickup at 2:00 pm.
On the final day, Saturday the 13th, we extend a special invitation to parents or grandparents to attend a catered luncheon following a Young Eagle rally starting at 9:00 am. This rally is a momentous occasion, offering each student who completed the camp the chance to fly in an airplane. Flights, approximately 20 minutes each, will be provided through the local EAA chapter Young Eagle program, a nationwide initiative that allows youth interested in aviation to experience the joy of flight. Local Memphis area pilots will generously donate their time and aircraft for this event. A guest speaker (TBA) will share inspiring words during the luncheon. Cake and a small graduation ceremony, with a diploma and a gift bag for each student, will follow.
To apply:
There are 16 slots available. Your application will be reviewed by a committee, which will make the final decision on admission to the program.
The application process is straightforward and consists of three parts.
1) The first link below will lead you to an online application.
βPlease fill it out completely and submit it.
2) Open the second link and drag and drop a picture of your applicant onto the button in the middle of the window where the link opens. This will automatically upload the image to the correct place.
