Washington County Commissioners Court Orders Bond Election for Multi-Purpose Facility
Washington County Commissioners Court has ordered a bond election for the proposed Multi-Purpose Facility at the Washington County Expo. The proposition will appear on the November 3, 2026 General Election ballot, allowing Washington County voters to decide whether to authorize funding for the project.
The proposed facility would provide a weather-protected, year-round flexible venue for livestock, equine, rodeo, agricultural, trade shows, community, and other events. It would also help the Expo attract larger events, supporting local businesses, the tourism economy, and the overall economic impact that the Expo has in the community.
If approved by voters, the project is estimated to result in a 0.0143 increase to the County’s Interest & Sinking (I&S) tax rate to fund the debt associated with the project.
The Multi-Purpose Facility is part of the County’s long-term planning for the Washington County Expo and supports priorities identified through both the Washington County Strategic Plan and the Expo Master Plan. These plans focus on expanding the use of the Expo, increasing its economic impact, and continuing to support Washington County’s community and agricultural heritage.
