Does the time of year matter when buying or selling a house?
The short answer: yes and no.
Springtime is the busiest season in the real estate market. The warm weather and end of the school year tend to bring out both sellers and buyers looking to make their next real estate move, which creates a healthy and thriving market for both parties.
Itās no surprise that homes show better in the spring! Trees and flowers are blooming, the grass is turning green, and the sun is making an appearance, which will allow you to showcase your home in the best light ā literally. Buyers are getting antsy to move before fall, the demand is high, and thereās a good chance you wonāt be on the market for long. With possible bidding wars and multiple offers to choose from, itās a great time to be a seller.
With temperatures rising and warm days upon us, this season brings us new blossoms and the perfect moving weather. Itās historically proven that more people sell around this time, so youāll likely have a better selection of homes to choose from. Youāll want to come in with a standout offer (as the competition is often highest in the springtime), but this can be a good thing since buying and selling at the same time might be easier around this season (which leads to a more seamless transaction in a busy market).
