Summer weekends look a little better here 🌊☀️

I’ve wrote and rewrote this several times trying to put it in context. Partially because I still have fogged headspace from the workout 😂

Today I completed my first Murph and without question, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.

For those who don’t know, and I didn’t until I started looking it up.
“Murph” is a workout dedicated to Lt. Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005 while trying to save his team during Operation Red Wings. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his courage and sacrifice. What started as one of his favorite workouts has now become a way for people across the country to honor him and every fallen service member each Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

1 mile run.
100 pull-ups.
200 push-ups.
300 squats.
1 more mile.

At several points, I truly didn’t know if I was going to finish. Your body hurts, your lungs burn, and your mind starts looking for every excuse to stop. But knowing what this workout represents makes quitting feel TINY, in comparison.

Today humbled me. It reminded me how blessed we are to live the lives we do because of people willing to sacrifice everything for others they would never even meet. The TRUE 1%.

I’m exhausted, sore, and sore in places I didn’t even know existed 😂— but I’m grateful I got to experience it and honor the meaning behind it.

Never forget the heroes this day is truly about. 🇺🇸💪
