Some of the actual treasures we found.

I’m desperately trying to get the mildew smell out if the comic books and baseball program. Currently, they are a plastic container with boxes of baking soda. I’m open to all suggestions!

In early summer 2024, during negotiations, big storms toppled an old pine tree on top of the cottage.
We were not deterred at this point!
Unfortunately, it went unrepaired until early December causing a great deal of interior ceiling damage. Pretty much every room has moldy ceiling tiles.
Call us foolish, but we were still not deterred!

We’re eternally grateful to Mike and Vickie for their help on the initial clean out! One huge load to Oneida landfill - 1,700 pounds of garbage and metal bed springs with original 1961 mattresses. We sorted out a lot of vintage treasures and furniture that we gave to a local thrift shop. Our plans include moving walls, and replacing floors and ceilings so we can’t keep a lot of items on site.

The cottage has been pretty closed up for a couple seasons. Mildew is operating at 100%.

Many of these little northern Wisconsin lake cottages are sold “as is” which means you also get all the stuff that’s been accumulated over the years.

Built in 1961 by the family that sold it to us, they clearly loved and used this property over multiple generations.

So, this finally happened. After 10 months of offers, radio silence, bait and switch, and negotiations… we finally close...

So, this finally happened. After 10 months of offers, radio silence, bait and switch, and negotiations… we finally closed on this little gem.

Situated on Seven Island Lake in Gleason, Wisconsin, it is perfectly located between two of our closest friends' lake houses. We’ve been bringing our family up to this lake since 2006 and we’re super excited to officially be a part of the lake community.

She’s definitely a diamond in the rough begging for a renovation. Feel free to follow along as we work on this project.
