🏡 HOME HACK MONDAY | Fall Home Tips

As temperatures start to drop, mice are looking for a warm, cozy place to spend the winter. Don't let your home become their next destination!

Here are 6 simple tips to help keep those unwanted guests outside this fall:

🐭 Seal Up Entry Points – Mice can squeeze through openings as small as a dime! Check around doors, windows, pipes, and foundations for gaps.

🍂 Clean Up Around Your Home – Keep leaves, woodpiles, and debris away from your foundation. These make great hiding spots for mice.

🚪 Check Your Garage Doors – Make sure weatherstripping and door sweeps are in good condition. Even a small gap can be an open invitation!

🥫 Store Food Properly – Keep pantry items, pet food, and birdseed in tightly sealed containers.

🪤 Get Ahead of the Problem – Place snap traps in protected areas where you've noticed mouse activity. Catching a problem early can prevent a bigger headache later.

🐁 Consider Rodent Bait Bars – Rodent bait bars can be effective when used properly. Crawlspaces, garages, and shops may be good locations, but only when the bait is secured inside tamper-resistant bait stations that children, pets, and other animals cannot access. Always follow the product label, and never leave bait bars exposed.

💡 Bonus Tip: You've probably heard that Irish Spring soap or dryer sheets keep mice away. Unfortunately, there's little evidence these home remedies work. Sealing entry points is your best defense!

Did you know the back of your toilet tank can collect mineral deposits, hard water stains, and grime over time? Here's an easy DIY trick to help keep it fresh and running smoothly!

🧴 You'll Need:
✔️ 1 gallon of white vinegar
✔️ 1 cup of baking soda

How to do it:
1️⃣ Pour the vinegar into the toilet tank.
2️⃣ Add the baking soda and enjoy the fizz! 🫧
3️⃣ Let it sit for 30 minutes to help break down buildup.
4️⃣ Flush the toilet and you're done!

✨ HOME HACK MONDAY ✨

😱 Gum stuck in your hair? Before you reach for the scissors... try the peanut butter!

🥜 The natural oils in creamy peanut butter help break down the gum's stickiness, making it much easier to gently work it out of your hair.

Here's how:

✔ Apply creamy peanut butter to the gum and the hair around it.
✔ Let it sit for 5–10 minutes.
✔ Gently work the gum loose with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
✔ Shampoo and rinse thoroughly.

💡 Pro Tip: Creamy peanut butter works best! If you don't have any on hand, other oil-based products like olive oil or coconut oil can often help too.

Sometimes the simplest household items can save the day—and save a haircut!

✨ HOME HACK MONDAY ✨

Got gum stuck on your favorite shirt, jeans, or your kid's hoodie? Don't panic—and don't start scrubbing!

🧊 Let ice do the work!

Place a bag of ice (or a few ice cubes in a plastic bag) directly on the gum for 5–10 minutes. Once it hardens, gently peel or scrape the gum away, then wash the garment as usual.

💡 Why it works: Cold temperatures make the gum brittle, allowing it to break away from the fabric instead of smearing deeper into the fibers.

✔ No harsh chemicals
✔ Safe for most fabrics
✔ Quick, easy, and uses something you already have at home!
