Another successful Oklahoma Basket Weavers Guild of OK-Weavers Weekend. So grateful for the many women who work so incredibly hard to organize this immersive experience. And I’m even more thakful for my mentor and friend, Bernie, for introducing me to this art form more than 25 years ago. I miss her dearly, but this conference always makes me feel connected to her. I hope I make her proud.

This weekend, I made many new friends…looking at you Emily …I laughed, ate way too much, wove until my fingers cramped and I literally couldn’t feel my hands…but most importantly, I felt inspired and I was really happy.

As I have in the past, I’d set down my weaving for an extended stretch, not recognizing how important it is to have this creative outlet. I need to remember to always, “go weave the basket”.

**In the 25+ years I’ve been weaving, I’ve heard as many ‘underwater basket weaving’ jokes as I’ve heard Romeo jokes. Save it. 😘🤣
