Ed,
I cannot believe that after all this time and after the meeting we had on April 11 (over one week ago) that you simply come back with this reply with no details. I don't know about you, but I don't have time to play games. We all sat down and each of us had an opporunity to discuss and at times we compromised and at the end of the meeting we all said we were comfortable with the end result. I know you were hoping for tighter rules regarding kids playing in our community, but we have to be realistic that we are going to have greater numbers of kids as time goes on, the size of the units make it attractive for families. As for the parking, I am not looking to make it complex, but we have to assure that there are spaces during the week for contractors doing service work, contractors doing HOA work and on weekends that people can entertain and their guests do not have to walk blocks to visit our homes.
Bottom line is that a reply like yours contributes nothing and after spending more time positioning ourselves for an irrigation project that is truly going to improve our community I expect you to put in the time it takes. To simply say you don't agree and say this the night before we want to distribute them makes no sense to me. I am almost back to where we were in the late summer/early Fall of 2005 when we talked and I said if you cannot work with us, do everyone a favor, inclduing yourself and resign. I am not there, but I am beginning to get very frustrated, I don't like anyone who is suppose to be my colleague laying in the weeds or upset if the vote does not go his way. We should all work together and we should do what is right for the entire community even though it may go contrary to the opinion of a small group. Sufficient numbers of individuals have told me they apprciate the work the board is doing, that the decisions we are making make sense and really have not heard anyone state the opposite, so until that changes I am going to continue to go down the path I have been going.
I respect your opinion and feel you have a lot to offer and don't expect you to agree with me all the time and vice versa but let's let the HOA decide if these rules are acceptable and the only way to do that is to distribute them as is and allow them time to discuss them on May 3. You know as well as I, those that what to be heard will be there but we also have to take the "silent majority" into consideration.
