What does a good real estate agent actually do for you in Chicago?

A lot of the value is invisible.

It’s knowing when a small issue could turn into an expensive one, when a conversation needs to happen now instead of tomorrow, and when protecting your client matters more than keeping a deal moving.

The smoothest transactions usually aren’t smooth because nothing went wrong.

They feel smooth because someone was paying attention early, asking the right questions, and handling problems before they became your problems.

That’s the part of representation I wish more buyers and sellers knew to look for.

The pool trend is getting smaller, but not less luxurious.

Cocktail pools are becoming a popular alternative to traditional swimming pools, especially for homeowners with smaller yards.

They are compact, stylish, and built for lounging rather than swimming laps. Many feature built-in seating, tanning ledges, lighting, spa jets, and water features, all while leaving room for patios, dining, and entertaining.

Bonus: their smaller size typically means less water, energy, and chemicals to maintain.

It’s less like an Olympic swimming pool and more like a backyard retreat.
