Walking through Itasca State Park today and saw this roof, as a home inspector I’d have some “concerns”! Some of those trees must be 10-15 feet tall. Shingles appear to be nearing the end of their life expectancy may need to be replaced in the near future, also the white pines look like they could use some water, recommend watering!

I’m guessing the roofers ran out of shingles and ridge cap, the miss matched shingles are only cosmetic, however, regular architectural shingles are not designed to be used for ridge cap shingles, they do not bend properly over the ridge and will crack over time possibly causing roof leaks.

Home Maintenance Tip! It is recommended to have your ductwork cleaned every 3-5 years. If you see dust buildup around your registers it’s time to have them cleaned. Having your air ducts cleaned properly can greatly improve indoor air quality, reduce the potential for health problems, save energy, and increase the life of your HVAC system.
