Wendy Young, Forest City Gear, won the 2022 AGMA Chairman’s Award of Excellence thanks to her dedication, passion, and continuous contributions to AGMA and the gear industry. Sadly, she passed away in late February 2022 before the award could be given to her. We’d like to share part of her nomination, written by four past AGMA Chairmen, with you now:

“There is a generation of leaders who transformed the AGMA from a ‘good ole boys club’, to the one we enjoy today, an open, active and inclusive association. Wendy tells the story of going to her first Annual Meeting at The Homestead in Virginia and how the reception of an “outsider” was greeted. Along with other leaders, she worked to bring the barriers down and the association changed. The association we enjoy today welcomes new members and embraces diversity to advance the association forward.”

On the final evening of the 2022 Annual Meeting, AGMA was honored to present the Chairman’s Award to Wendy Young’s family. Rest in peace, Wendy. You will be sorely missed.

AMBER ALERT: Pope Co. Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Robert Ramirez, 2. Ramirez is 3’ tall, 28 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve red t-shirt and black sweatpants with green stripes.
The Pope Co. Sheriff’s Office was contacted early this morning (March 17) about the missing child near the city of Westport. Investigators have developed information throughout the day that now leads them to believe Robert Ramirez was likely abducted. There is no known abductor or vehicle information available at this time.
