Lunch with Santa was Amazing. We want to give a BIG THANK YOU to the Collier County Sheriff's Office office for the wonderful gifts and to Santa being here with us, Janessa from Verizon for the wonderful Hot Chocolate Bar, Kiko's New Painting and Guillermo's Landscaping for the food. We appreciate everything you do for us each year!!!

The Education Foundation of Collier County – Champions For Learning is proud to partner with Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to provide five Collier County high school seniors with a $2,000 scholarship award. This is a one-year, non-renewable scholarship. Scholarship funds are to be used for tuition and fees required to enroll full-time and attend an eligible educational institution in Florida in the 2025-2026 academic year. Scholarship funds may also be used for other direct course-related expenses—such as fees, books, supplies, and equipment—provided they are required of all students in the course of instruction. The scholarship cannot be used for transportation, housing, or dormitory costs.

To Open Shelters:

Emergency Shelters - Remember, there are very limited services; think lifeboat, not love boat! Those who plan to use emergency shelters should bring any necessary medications, cell phone chargers, toiletries, food, water, flashlights, bedding, and anything else they need to be comfortable.

A Special Needs-Only Shelter will open at Palmetto Ridge High School for electrically dependent or bedridden pre-registered clients who require nursing care. A family member or caregiver is asked to accompany the special needs person to the shelter.

The pets must remain crated. The pets will not be permitted in the shelter area but will be housed in another location in the school.

: Tropical Storm has formed in the Caribbean as of the new 11 AM Advisory. Highest probability for landfall is in the Florida Big Bend on Thursday as a potential Major Hurricane. Impacts will still be felt in Southwest Florida on the eastern side *outside* of the cone, especially surge. I'll have local expectations during my 5 PM Facebook post later today. I'll continue to keep you updated 24/7 throughout the storm on WINK News.

It’s best to err on the side of safety. Today and tomorrow are optimal times to top off your gas tanks, secure any lawn furniture or other loose items in your yard, charge your devices and make sure you have a plan. The storm surge is predicted to be 2 to 4 feet with localized flooding in our area. It’s important to continue to monitor trusted sources for storm information as predictions can change.
