🎄 Getting new appliances before the holidays? Replacing that old gas stove, dryer, or other gas-powered appliance?

Before you roll in the new and haul out the old, let's talk about those gas lines!
🏠 Old or unused natural gas lines need attention! When a gas appliance is removed, the gas supply must be properly shut off and the line safely capped. An abandoned, improperly capped gas line can create a dangerous gas leak, putting your home and family at risk.

🔧 Leave gas work to the professionals!
✅ Have a qualified professional disconnect and remove old gas appliances.
✅ Make sure unused gas lines are properly capped.
✅ Have new gas appliances installed and connected by a qualified professional.
✅ If you smell gas, leave the building and contact your gas utility or emergency services from a safe location.

Remember when washing clothes meant a washboard, keeping warm meant chopping wood, and getting directions meant unfolding a paper map the size of your entire car hood? 🤣🗺️

We’ve come a LONG way! Today, we push a button, ask our phones a question, and expect everything to happen instantly. But back in the day, everyday life required a little more elbow grease, patience, and good old-fashioned know-how! 💪

🧵 Mending clothes instead of tossing them.
🥕 Growing vegetables in the garden.
🥫 Canning and preserving food for winter.
🍞 Baking homemade bread.
🪡 Sewing, repairing, and making things last.
🚶 Walking instead of driving everywhere. 📰 Reading the newspaper instead of scrolling all day.

Good news! There’s still time to tackle those fall maintenance tasks before the snow flies! 🌨️

✅ Clean those gutters before they become frozen waterfalls.
✅ Check your foundation and exterior grading before snowmelt finds its way inside.
✅ Clean your dryer vent before it becomes a fire hazard.
