Well here is my official update for anyone that is interested. As most of you know, I had a shoulder replacement March 30th and by July I had a softball size lump on that shoulder. Again as most of you know I am stubborn, even though I knew it was infected, and chose to work through it by masking the pain and infection with leftover antibiotics, Tylenol, and ibuprofen. Fortunately I made it all the way until mid October before sepsis set in and I was done for. I entered the hospital with a 104.1 degree fever and was near the end of my life they suspected. The doctors wasted no time in removing the shoulder hardware and rinsing the infection out of the shoulder. The shoulder continued to grow bacteria and they did another surgery four days later. Infectious Disease put in a picc line and after 10 days in the hospital they felt good enough about it to send me home with home health care. I am currently half of the way through the antibiotic course and have been feeling better. It is weird not having a useful shoulder but that will hopefully be installed in about 6-8 weeks as long as no infection shows its head. After that I have to behave, unlike normal me, for three months. With Gods help I believe my family and myself may just survive this ordeal just in time to get the other shoulder replaced. Haha. Funny but not. Fortunately, to keep the business name relevant, Rob Kerwin stepped in to do my work and keep A&A Home Inspection, LLC alive. I appreciate everyone’s concern and I apologize for taking so much time to bring y’all up to speed. It was psychologically difficult for me to wrap my head around and felt hopeless. The endeavor is not over but we are on track! Love ya all.
