The N&W Class J No. 611 is back in the area for summer excursions. The Virginia Scenic Railway will be hosting excursions from Staunton to Crozet 6/12-6/21.

Our latest fun find for the Goshen Post Inn, the historic former Goshen U.S. Post Office, is an original 1940’s mail sorter from a post office located in Georgia. It has now been converted to our travel center with information on area attractions and things to do.

The N&W Class J No. 611 is returning to Goshen! The time and date that tickets will go on sale will be released August 12, 2025. Fall stays are already starting to book out at the Goshen Post Inn. The Norfolk & Western Class J #611, an iconic American steam legend, is back for a limited number of weekend excursions starting September 26, 2025 through October 26, 2025.

Round trip passenger excursions aboard the Shenandoah Valley Limited will depart from Victoria Station in Goshen, Virginia. Two scheduled departures will be offered on Friday, Saturday and Sundays — the first at 9:00 am and the second at 2:30 pm. The round trip journey is expected to last about 3.5 hours, with the 611 reaching speeds of up to 40 mph on the mainline.

When tickets go on sale, seating options will include coach, premium coach, first class, and dome class —and will range in price from $120 - $300 per seat.

Here you'll be surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
