Come see what’s new at 123 Lakeview Drive. 👋

Cabinets are going in, some flooring has been installed throughout much of the building except for the carpet, and things are starting to look a lot different inside.

123 Lakeview Drive will include eight one-bedroom apartments for tenants age 55+ who need supportive housing, adding another housing option to the Lakeview Drive community.

Take a quick trip through the building with us—and keep an eye out for Ashley. She seems to be everywhere. 👀

Yesterday, we celebrated Amy Call's 5-year workaversary at Lacasa!

As our Chief Financial Officer, Amy has spent the past five years managing the financial side of an organization that has grown significantly. More properties, programs, funding sources and projects mean there are a LOT of numbers to keep straight.

Fortunately, Amy is very good at that.

She's also been known to exchange a practical joke or two. So when it came time to present Amy with her five-year anniversary gift yesterday, Alan naturally handed her a very special commemorative... paper bowl in a brown paper sack. It was truly special. 🤣🤣

We eventually gave her the real one. Thank you Goertzen Pottery.

Five years, countless spreadsheets, clean audits and a fair amount of laughter later, we're very glad Amy is part of Lacasa.

👋👋Meet Nancy Bontrager, Staff Accountant at Lacasa.

Nancy grew up in Goshen, so the neighborhoods where Lacasa works are familiar to her. She remembers seeing older homes and properties in her neighborhood that needed attention. She watched what happens when those same places are invested in and revitalized.

“I love being able to use my skillset to support a mission that empowers individuals and invests in neighborhoods that others might overlook.”

As Staff Accountant, much of Nancy’s work happens behind the scenes, helping support the housing, programs, and neighborhood investments happening throughout our community.

She also appreciates the people she gets to do that work with.

“It is lovely working with other people who are all geared toward the same mission, we have fun, but we know the importance of our work as well.”

Congratulations to Bradley! 🎉🎉🎉

We have another HUD Certified Housing Counselor at Lacasa! We are so proud of Bradley for passing the HUD Certified Housing Counselor exam and adding even more value to our gifted team of housing counselors.

HUD certification matters because our clients are making some pretty big decisions—buying a home, working through housing challenges, understanding their options—and they deserve guidance from counselors who have demonstrated knowledge across a broad range of housing and financial topics.

It’s also an important credential for Lacasa, allowing us to provide HUD-approved housing counseling and maintain the standards required of a HUD-approved agency.
