Denise Huber, Association Executive, began the session with a “welcome” and introductions. Each Agent introduced themself, the Brokerage they work with and why they became a REALTOR® and/or how they “got to Granbury”.
Matthew & Jessica Watson, with Watson Building Inspections, provided breakfast for the new Members. Matthew did an excellent job in explaining the various types of inspections he conducts and the ancillary services he provides. He also explained that he provides both a Tablet & Web based report that is useful in creating a “repair addendum” and the costs associated with each repair. The Agents asked great questions and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast from BAKED!
Denise reviewed GAR’s Website, the location of pertinent Membership information, Directories, Education/classes, SAE & CE requirements, NAR COE requirements and available courses, Brunch, Lunch/After Hours Tours, Bylaws, Policies & Procedures, and Calendar/Event Information. She also briefly explained and summarized the various committees that Members can join and encouraged the new members to “get involved”.
Denise provided an overview of MLS/NTREIS Rules and Regulations. A thorough discussion/review was had regarding the changes in MLS regarding compensation. Also, the change in rules regarding Clear Cooperation, the Coming Soon status and sharing other Agent’s Listing information on social media. Denise also reviewed the MLS Compliance & Enforcement of Rules and explained “Data Checker”.

Madison Northcutt, Brent Northcutt and David Pritchett, with Northcutt Farmers Insurance, provided lunch for the Agents. Each explained their areas of expertise and the various products/services Farmers can provide. Madison and David focused on Insurance products: home, auto, Life, Errors & Omissions and Commercial. David also stressed that 60 days prior to a policy renewal – Farmers conducts a review to determine if any discounts and or changes can be made to save the client money. Brent focused on Financial Services – 1-Year Annuity product – with no surrender charges, the SEP for small business owners and explained that investing is individualized to each person’s risk tolerance. The New Members asked great questions, and the presentation was well received. Lunch was great – from McAlisters.
Three Board Members attended to introduce themself, explain their duties on the Board and to stress the importance of getting involved and serving on one of the 11 GAR Committees. Those who attended were Jacque Gordon, 2024 President; Kevin Watson, 2024 President Election; & Erin Higgins, Director.
Attorney Steve Reid then conducted a Title Commitment Review. Tenured Agents received 1 hour CE credit for attending the session. The information was invaluable to the new and tenured agents.
