Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning modern monarch in British history, has passed away at the age of 96. In her long reign, she redefined what it meant to be a monarch and navigated a tremendous amount of change within her family, country, and world.
Her eldest son, Prince Charles, will succeed her as King, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will become known as Queen Consort. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, will take his father’s place as heir apparent to the throne.
