⭐️ Jack Burt’s Official Restaurant Review: Dave’s Hot Chicken – Grand Forks, ND ⭐️
Hi, it’s me—Jack, professional food expert and lunch date for my mom on days when get my teeth cleaned. I was looking forward to trying Dave's Hot Chicken (I’ve had at least 300 chicken tenders in my life, what kid hasn’t?).
So, today I tried Dave’s Hot Chicken in Grand Forks, North Dakota, which opened here in November 2025. Dave’s Hot Chicken let's you pick your spice level, I like Taki’s and some flavor but I stilled played it safe and ordered the mild. My mom and I shared Combo #3. I ate the slider and she had the tender. I opted to add cheese to my slider and for them to put the pickles and slaw on the side.
First of all, let me just say:
“Dave’s Hot Chicken was good.”
The chicken was crispy, juicy, and actually way less greasy than I thought it would be. Some kind of an interesting dryness with the seasoning I’ve never experienced before…But I liked it. I recommend the Dave’s Sauce, the sauce brought the slider all together.
I also tried the fries, which were seasoned and crispy, again the Dave’s sauce made it.
I was confused with the piece of bread? One slice of white bread? I asked my mom and she said it must be a thing “in the south.” Dave maybe toast the bread for us Northerners, we don’t get it.
But here’s my professional opinion:
I thoroughly enjoyed Dave’s Hot Chicken in Grand Forks, but… it’s still not as good as The Red Pepper, which I love more than my ebike and Xbox.
Dave’s = super delicious.
Red Pepper = the actual king of my taste buds forever.
Overall, I give Dave’s Hot Chicken 9 out of 10 Saucy Chicken Stars. It only loses one star because it did not come with a cheese tostada.
Thanks for reading my official review. I am also available for future reviews. My mom is always begging me to spend time with her, so I know she will drive me.
