🚓🚒 Grand Forks could spend roughly $374,000 on police and fire initiatives in 2027, with some costs supported by federal and state grants.

Plans include funding connected to three future police positions and the city’s share of a new computer-aided dispatch system for the 911 center.

One important detail: those three officers haven’t been hired yet. The Police Department currently has 97 officers and needs to reach an authorized strength of 98 before filling the grant-funded positions.

🏗️ The Ray Richards project has cleared its first major PILOT vote.

The Grand Forks School Board voted 5–4 to approve the incentive for a development proposing 169 apartments and a Topgolf-like driving range.

The request is for a 90%, 20-year PILOT, with reviews planned at years 10 and 15.

The County Commission and City Council still need to approve the incentive before the project can move forward.
